BubSteena would like to present - MOVIE REVIEWS!!
When In Rome:
Every month or so, a romantic comedy is released. Whether or not this romantic comedy will do well relies heavily on the celebrity of the actors and definitely the trailer. I have to say that I was just elated when I saw the trailer for "When in Rome," starring Kristen Bell (Fanboys) and Josh Duhamel (Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!); it appeared to have every aspect of romantic comedies that one would want. Love, romance, confusion, a foreign country, superstition, romance (I already said that).
"When in Rome" took us on a ride of how women tend to feel in real life: unworthy of love, unworthy of a man's affection. Beth (Kristen Bell) had suffered a broken heart before this film begins and she is still in the recovery and denial stages of that break-up. When she is whisked away from her high demanding gallery job in New York, to celebrate the bittersweet wedding of her younger sister, she is again faced with the question: will she find love again?
Beth found unexpected romance in Rome when she took several coins from a magic fountain. The film takes an unexpected turn from your ordinary romantic comedy when five very different men are suddenly completely infatuated with Beth. The way that the story twists and turns is just remarkable. The character development with each of her courters was so gratifying and you find yourself routing for each man after Beth's heart.
"When in Rome" is an amazing film, I am quite surprised that it has not been nominated for best picture in this years Academy Awards. I am so happy to have spent that lone Saturday night alone in the movie theater with my microwaved popcorn and child sized soda.
"We watch these movies, so you don't have to."
